Okay so who is to blame for icloud nude photo’sOkay so who
is to blame for icloud nude photo’s
“The passion of self-aggrandizement is persistent but plastic; it will never disappear from a vigorous mind, but may
become morally higher by attaching itself to a larger conception of what constitutes the self.” ~ Charles Horton Cooley
Over the past few days the news has been full of the way Apple iCloud has been abused to extract nude photographs of
celebrities
without their consent. These
photo’s have apparently been distributed for the public to see.
Who is to blame?
The initial blame was hackers of Anon-IB. Now it appears they
used software developed by the Russians from Moscow-based Elcomsoft’s Phone Password Breaker, or EPPB
Is it Anon
or the Russians that are to blame?
I believe at the center core of this matter of this it
is neither.
Christian understand where the evil in this world originates from. We know that underlying people’s actions
is an evil force that drives them to do things God would not approve of.
Consider that it is pride and selfishness that were motivators in the first place.
The pride and insecurity of a person who wanted to have their naked body displayed (even privately) for others to see
is evident in the photo’s existance.
I assume that film stars are as wise as other people in the public. By asking members of the youth group
my wife and I work with if they felt phone photographs were safe, I was able to find out they all indicated “no”.
These are
rural teenagers not sophisticated film stars! Film stars should definitely have know this.
Next, what motivates the taking of selfies?
I have noticed that those of us
who are least secure in themselves but who want to portray ourselves to others as secure are the most prevalent publisher of selfies.
Instead of knowing we have value and worth, we try to pump themselves
up with false pride in appearances and by broadcasting this. I believe if we take time to sense this, we could feel the tendrils
of Satan’s influence. Pride pushes us to publish body image photos of ourselves.
Now the hackers pride in ability to abuse others
and the greed of software makers is also obvious and evil. They are definitely also doing evil!
These are all evil influences.
A person who deeply trusts God
does not take selfies of themselves in the nude, so no hacker could ever get hold of them.
A person who loves God would never hack another’s personal information.
Our greatest protection is God’s
word and Jesus’ influence in our life. If we listen to the quiet voice of Holy Spirit these mistakes are all avoided and then we will not fall
into many of the pits and snares laid out by the evil one.
I am sorry people got hurt by Satan again and will work hard to try and guide people to make good decisions.
Maybe you can help by advising others around you that God’s protection outweighs hash encrypted algorithms.
Have a blessed safe day!

a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a daya day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day~ 2 Peter 3
“Where is this ‘coming’
he promised?”
People ask!
Some think this is
a new question about Jesus, but Peter wrote it for the first time in AD 64, just under 2000 years ago now. Jesus died, rose,
went to heaven and will return. Scoffers ask "when?" "Isn't he taking a long time?"
He knew we would be asking
,so he answered the people who he described as “scoffers …,
scoffing and following their own evil desires” within a few years of Jesus leaving.
If we ask
this question it should be an honest question, not one we are using to justify mocking Jesus. Mocking God is blasphemy
and the darkest darkness is reserved for people who do this! We should not do this!
It is easy to forget that “long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.”
God was there then!
God was
there when the waters parted for the first time and that first supercontinent was formed. No life had formed
on Earth yet at that stage. None had been detected in the heavens, but God was there and Holy Spirit moved over the waters.
Therefore when Peter
says “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day,”
we know Peter is being gentle. Billions of years are reported to have elapsed since that time. In Peter's terms Millions
of days if we divide a billion by 1000.
Yet his words were to explain one simple thing... God’s timescale is not ours and
we cannot understand it or measure in it.
Where is this coming?
“The Lord is not slow
in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone
to come to repentance.”
God is being patient and giving us time to straighten out our lives.
God is coming again in a new way!
Just not at a time or place where we can predict
or when we expect it!
What
does this mean?
Be ready!
Are we ready? Have
we settled our affairs with God?
Can we leave today and know all is okay?
Think about that!

Thunder-light and our ability to perceiveThunder-light
and our ability to perceive
“Humans see what they want to see.” ~ Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief
Each day we go about life believing we know everything we need
to know about our existence and lacking an understanding that from God’s perspective all that we see and do would seem
very different.
We assume we understand the perspective of God and all of us fall into the mistake of explaining how God thinks (I am
no different). I hope we also understand we don’t. (I understand I cannot).
To illustrate this I want to talk about thunder and
lightning.
All
of us know these concepts and we talk of one or the other explaining the noise of thunder and the flash of lightening.
Yet the very experience
of lightening is both simultaneously, something we can never experience.
Lightening discharges about 500 megajoules of energy in about 30 milliseconds.
That’s about equivalent to moving 16500 tons at 100mph.
Huge energy!
Light leaves the center of this areas at about 300 million metres per second, while sound that has to vibrate
air particles moves at bout 300 meters per second. We being human see the light before we hear the sound, and
so we separate these concepts.
More than that, we talk of them as if they are different, yet at their origin and if you
could perceive everything happening they would be occurring together instantaneously.
God’s view is of the all,
not the part. He is at the center of the explosive mind numbing flash of light and shockwave of sound that
collapses into the vacuum of the explosion at the instant of thunder-light occuring.
A
better term would be thunder-light because they are in fact synonymous at the point of creation! We as humans don’t comprehend
this. We do the same thing we do to thunder-light to many things of God’s creation that we experience daily.
We look at them superficially. We see in time, not through eternal eyes. It takes a great God to make the
difference in our hearts and open our eternal eyes.
God sees all... Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good.
We can gain by allowing Holy Spirit to input into our lives
a new experience of things outside our immediate perception. Though intuitive experience of God we can see things
not visible.
That’s
a great gift of God to us.
Psalm 27:1-3 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
Let’s trust
God and his gift of Holy Spirit to us today!
